Our team of dentists and dental hygienists often repair teeth that are affected by decay, cracked, or fractured using composite fillings.

What are fillings?

Fillings are usually recommended for treating teeth with decay or for teeth that have been cracked.

During your appointment, the decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite resin.

Composite fillings are popular because they can be closely matched to the colour of your existing teeth to achieve an aesthetic result.

What happens after the procedure?

You will be given care instructions at the conclusion of your treatment.

Good oral hygiene practices, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new fillings.

As with most dental restorations, composite fillings are not permanent and someday may have to be replaced.

Composite fillings are durable and can last a long time with proper care.

Why do I need fillings?

We apply fillings to damaged or decayed teeth because if these teeth are left untreated, the damage will normally progress and worsen. This can result in much more serious dental issues in the long run, including gum disease, extensive tooth decay, and even tooth loss.

There are a variety of reasons a patient may need fillings. These include:

    • Chipped, cracked or broken teeth
    • Closing space between two teeth
    • Decayed teeth
    • Worn teeth
