Root Canal Therapy

When the pulp of your tooth has been infected, inflamed, or is dead, we may recommend root canal therapy to treat your tooth.

Root Canal Therapy may be needed when the “pulp” of the tooth has been infected, inflamed or is dead. In order to try to save the tooth, the doctor must clean out the pulp and remove all bacteria and decay.

The area is cleaned and the root of the tooth will be restored in order to keep the infection from returning. We normally recommend that all teeth that have had a root canal treatment should have a crown placed upon them. A crown will help to protect the tooth and prevent it from breaking.

You will be given care instructions at your appointment. Good oral hygiene practices and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your root canal treatment.
