At Legacy Dental, we offer dental crowns and bridges to help restore your teeth.

Dental Crowns

A crown is a covering that encases the entire tooth. It protects and strengthens the structure that cannot be restored with fillings or any other types of restorations.

What is a porcelain crown?

These types of crowns are made to match the shape, size and colour of your teeth, giving you a beautiful smile.

Reasons for crowns:

  • Broken or fractured teeth
  • Cosmetic enhancement
  • Decayed teeth
  • Fractured fillings
  • Large fillings
  • Your tooth has a root canal

What can I expect during my appointment?

First, we will take impressions of your tooth that will be used to create your custom crown.

In the meantime, while the tooth is numb, we will prepare it by removing any decay and shaping the surface to fit the crown.

Using our CEREC machine, your crown will be shaped, cut and coloured.

You will be given care instructions and follow-up appointments after the procedure is complete.

Fixed Bridges

A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance which is a way to replace missing teeth. Dental bridges are durable and can last many years with proper care, however they may need replacement or need to be re-cemented due to normal wear and tear, or other issues.

Reasons for a fixed bridge:

  • Fill space of missing teeth
  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position
  • Restore chewing and speaking ability
  • Restore your smile
  • Change from a removable partial denture to a permanent dental appliance

What can I expect after my appointment?

You will receive care instructions for your bridge at the conclusion of the procedure. A proper brushing and flossing routine at home, combined with regular dental appointments, will extend the life of your new permanent bridge.
